SEPT 13 | ENT | 7 PM Songs for Horn: Rachel Childers - horn from the Boston Symphony, Sergei Vassiliev clarinet, Ieva Jokubaviciute piano. Pieces by Reinecke, Grant Still and Voight.
OCT 11 | ENT | 7 PM Ivalas String Quartet: Ivalas are based at Juilliard School and “are dedicated to the celebration of BIPOC voices”. Ivalas won the first prize at the 2019 WDAV Young Chamber Musicians Competition in Davidson, NC, as well as the grand prize at the 2022 Coltman Chamber Music Competition in Austin, TX.
JAN 10 | ENT | 7 PM Songs of Youth: EPIC Wind Quintet is joined by bass clarinetist Nicholas Davies of Colorado Symphony. Hear the iconic “Mladi” by Janacek for wind quintet and bass clarinet.
FEB 21 | ENT | 7 PM Romantic Beethoven: Beethoven Clarinet Trio and other Romantic works. Sophie Shao cello, Ieva Jokubaviciute piano, Sergei Vassiliev, clarinet.
MAR 28 | ENT | 7 PM Bernstein Loved Clarinet: Bernstein’s first published work was his clarinet sonata. Explore the story behind the piece and hear the journey of Bernstein from student to mature composer. Sergei Vassiliev clarinet, Andrew Staupe piano.
MAY 23 | ENT | 7 PM Quartet for the End of Time: Premiered on January 15, 1941, prisoner-of-war camp, in Görlitz, Germany, where the composer had been confined, this is the seminal chamber music work by Oliver Messiaen. Sophie Shao cello, Gabby Diaz violin, Ieva Jokubaviciute piano, Sergei Vassiliev clarinet.
